Anyone who was born in Pirmasens in 1927, , like Günter Speyer was, spent his childhood and youth during the period of National Socialism, experienced a turbulent time that was fraught with strong memories. Here in this book we find poems, which in haunting, often very restrained and unobtrusive language, like pieces of a mosaic, give a vivid picture of that time.
